Simon Cowell was the very first celebrity guest on "The Jennifer Hudson Show." Simon judged Jennifer on Season 3 of “American Idol,” on which she placed seventh.

During the interview, Simon attributed the success of the show to “people like [Jennifer].”

“It was the combination of talent, determination, and real personality,” he said. “And even though we had that kind of banter, you and I, I always knew how determined you were. You were funny and you took it with grace. You got it. I always thought that about you. You got it.”
