Young Reporter Pepper Persley Asks Jennifer Hudson Her Burning Questions

Eleven-year-old reporter Pepper Persley is showing off her impressive interviewing skills.
On Friday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Jennifer chatted with the young journalist, who has already interviewed some of the biggest names in sports, as well as former President George W. Bush.
When Jennifer asked Pepper about her dream interviewees, she gave a list of talented, inspiring women.
“So many. Serena Williams and Simone Biles are on my list,” Pepper said about the iconic sports stars.
Pepper would also love to interview actress Zendaya, as well as singer Taylor Swift, as she is a “big Swiftie”!
Coincidentally, Pepper was sitting next to someone on her list — Jennifer Hudson herself!
“You inspire me!” she told JHud, to which the host replied, “You wanna interview me now?”
Pepper first asked JHud what she would tell her 11-year-old self.
“I would tell her to trust herself, keep dreaming, and tell yourself you’re on the right track,” Jennifer answered.
“Keep going. Believing in yourself is step one. My goal has been to be a role model,” she continued. “I want to be a good example for young girls.”

“Girl, I’m every owl,” Jennifer hilariously answered.
“Being a musician and an actress and a mom and a talk show host, you sleep when you can,” she added. “Whenever I can.”
Earlier in the chat, Pepper explained what motivated her to get started in journalism.
“Just my genuine curiosity. I asked a lot of questions about sports,” she said, adding that she plays basketball and has a black belt in tae kwon do.

Jennifer wants to help Pepper with her career and is sending her to the American Music Awards in November, where she will conduct A-list interviews on the red carpet.
