Jimmie Allen’s entire outfit was telling a story on Wednesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” The country singer stepped out onstage in an ensemble that made Jennifer exclaim, “You better be sharp!”
Despite telling the host that he couldn’t come out and not look half-decent, Jimmie also quipped that parts of his look were thrown together in a very casual way.
Explaining his inspiration to Jennifer, who admitted she wanted Jimmie’s style herself, the music artists explained that his changing mood influences what he looks like.
“I used to perform in cowboy boots, now I like to platform in my Avril Lavigne boots,” Jimmie said about his combat boots.
Jimmie — who is traveling the country with Carrie Underwood on The Denim & Rhinestones Tour — added that he likes glitter. With glistening pants and a shiny belt that he described as “extra,” The star certainly sparkled on the couch.
Some accessories were sweet nods to his family. The “15” on his hat was a reference to his dad’s favorite number and he always has his grandmother’s scarf on him.
“When she was alive, she wore it while fishing. I always have it on me,” Jimmie shared.
Other items were less sentimental — Jimmie admitted that he needed a black T-shirt when he was packing and found the one he was wearing on his closet floor. “I don’t know if it's clean,” he confessed.
But he wore the item that day for a reason, as he made clear when he shared this tip: “Buy small shirts, you don’t have to iron them.”
