JHud’s Dream Guests… as Simon Cowell Joins Premiere Show
September 02, 2022
Jennifer Hudson is making a list, and you’d better believe she’s working her way through it!
Her dream guest, dead or alive (excluding Aretha Franklin, who she portrayed in the 2021 biopic “Respect”), would be Whitney Houston.
“If we could do Whitney, I would love to do Whitney,” Jenn exclaimed during an interview. Jenn would also love to sit down with iconic R&B singer Smokey Robinson, who she collaborated with during a promotional shoot for “Respect.”
Simon Cowell, who was a judge on Season 3 of “American Idol” when Jennifer competed, has always been up there on the singer’s wish list.

This comes just weeks after Jennifer shared her desire to have the music mogul sit on her couch.
“Well, Simon Cowell is on my list. Definitely. He’s so interesting. He’s a huge part of my journey and that has an imprint in the making of me and [my] beginning,” she said.
While speaking to Kansas City affiliate KMBC 9, Jenn reiterated that Simon — who told Jennifer that she was “out of [her] depth in the competition” — was her “dream guest.”

Additionally, Jenn told Dallas affiliate KERA that it would be “awesome” to reunite with Simon decades after she placed seventh in the singing competition.
“I think it would be so interesting,” she said. “‘Idol’ was 18 years ago, so why not? I think people will be interested, [people] who’ve followed my journey for 20 years. See us sit down and see us have a conversation. I think that would be awesome to do.
