JHud Reacts to Glamour’s Women of the Year Honor: ‘I’m Stunned’
October 25, 2022
Jennifer Hudson is being recognized for the “impact” she has on the world.
Tuesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud revealed to her live studio audience that she has been named one of Glamour’s Women of the Year and exclusively shared her feelings about the honor (as well as what happened behind the scenes).
“I’m stunned,” Jennifer said. “It’s such a big deal. You’re considered an inspiration. It’s important to recognize the impact.”
Noting that she doesn’t take this honor lightly, Jenn immediately thought of the women who have had an impact on her life, including her mother Darnell and grandmother Julia.
“When I get weary, I think of my mom. [She would say,] ‘Jenny, all you can do is the best you can do.’ Those are the things I go by to [handle] whatever I’m dealing with,” Jennifer told the audience.

After revealing the good news, JHud had another surprise in store for the audience.
“Want to see my covers?” Jennifer asked.
In her spread, shot at a gorgeous mansion in Beverly Hills, California, Jennifer posed in several fabulous outfits, including one dress that required up to five people to hold her train.
The photo shoot was styled by Deborah Afshani, with hair by Albert Morrison and make-up by Adam Burrell.
“The inspiration was ‘taking up space.’ ‘Women taking up space,’” she said.
“Am I not giving you drama?” Jennifer said in response to one of her exquisite looks.

But it wasn’t all glamour on the shoot; Jennifer encountered a few animals, including a dog that ran across her train and a particularly chatty bird!
“I’m looking for a bird that I can eat lunch with,” Jennifer joked.
Jenn said it’s a “highlight” to share this honor with past recipients, including Michelle Obama, Viola Davis and Regina King.
“I’m in such great company. They have beauty, brains, and power.”
