JHud Melts as She Meets an Adorable Sloth but Won’t Go Near THIS Lizard!
September 21, 2022
Jennifer Hudson got to walk on the wild side with a number of exotic animals!
On Wednesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud met with David Riherd, the co-founder of the Wildlife Learning Center (WLC), who brought a number of mammals and reptiles onstage.

View StoryThough Jennifer took off her shoes — in case she had to run from the creatures! — her heart absolutely melted when David brought out a 5-month-old male two-toed sloth.
“It’s a sloth! Oh my God!” JHud said, declaring that sloths are her favorite animal. “He’s so cute!”
Sadly, the sloth — whose species is typically found in Central and South America — had a tough upbringing. His mom wasn’t producing enough milk and eventually rejected him — causing the male to become dehydrated. The baby sloth had to be hand-reared and found love from a stuffed animal who became his surrogate mother.

Though David told Jennifer that the sloth doesn’t have a name, Jenn took suggestions from her live studio audience and appropriately named the animal “Hudson”!
“Can I kiss him? Macavity, don’t be jealous!” Jenn told her cat. “Oh my God, I have a new baby!”
Jenn even joked that she didn’t want to give “Hudson” back to David!
“You not getting this baby back! We got a sloth now!”
However, Jennifer was less receptive when an animal handler brought out a 20-something-year-old red tegu!
“Whoa, Jesus!” Jennifer hollered as she ran from the reptile.
Eventually, Jennifer warmed up to the lizard — known for its reddish scales and big jowls to attract females — and touched his tail as he ate a strawberry.
“I want to be friends with him, but do he bite?” Jennifer asked.
