Viral Roller-Skating Brothers Marcus & Michael Griffin Gift Jennifer Some ‘Swag’

Jennifer Hudson is getting her skate on!
On Thursday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud welcomed viral roller-skating sensations Marcus and Michael Griffin, who became Internet famous for their cool videos.
Jennifer showed the studio audience what happened when she met up with the brothers, who have been skating for 24 years (since Michael was 11 and Marcus was 9).
Jennifer took to the rink in her glittery Jessica Simpson skates and spoke to the brothers, who shared that it was their mom who got them into the sport.

View Story“She’s the OG of skating,” Marcus said. “She used to drop us off. We used to watch people skating and [we thought to ourselves], ‘We have to learn that.’”
After Marcus and Michael made their “own shuffle routine,” they have been skating ever since.
Jennifer received a skating lesson from the brothers, who told her that the number one step is to have confidence.

“Know you can do this,” Marcus told her. “If you get on the floor and say, ‘I’m going to fall,’ you’re going to fall.”
“So, it’s mind over matter,” Jenn said in response.
Michael also said his favorite move is when he kicks his foot over Marcus’ head.
After they demonstrated the neat trick, Jenn exclaimed, “Y’all so smooth with it!”
Additionally, the brothers taught Jenn how to lift up — in which you raise your leg up while skating — and how to skate backward.
“How do you know if you’re running into someone?” Jenn asked, to which Marcus replied, “Well, you got to look back.”

Marcus and Michael later joined Jenn onstage, where they told her that she did a great job at the rink.
Though the brothers couldn’t make it to her birthday party at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace in New York, they still got her a gift: a new pair of light blue skates!
