Eddie Redmayne tries not to get too attached to his projects for the sake of his family.
On Thursday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud asked the British actor — who won the 2014 Best Actor Oscar for portraying theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything” — if he is able to remove himself from the characters he portrays.
“Fortunately, playing a serial killer, I don’t,” he joked, referencing his role in the Netflix movie “The Good Nurse” in which he plays real-life convicted killer and former nurse Charles Edmund Cullen.

“When you read a script, there’s a moment where you’re seeing the story in your imagination and then suddenly something happens when you picture yourself in it,” he said. “And normally, that coincides with the slight lurch feeling in your stomach.”
