Jennifer Hudson always remembers where she came from! On “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud frequently throws it back and will show her live studio audience pictures from her past. Whether it’s from her time on “American Idol” to her days growing up in Chicago, Jenn loves to walk down memory lane. To check out her throwback snaps, CLICK RIGHT!

Jennifer shared an old family photo, featuring her mother, sister, and brother. "Believe it or not, y'all, I was 11 in this picture!" said Jennifer.

Jennifer wishes her brother Jason a happy heavenly birthday on February 17, on what would have been his 44th birthday.

While interviewing Oprah Winfrey and the cast of "The Color Purple," Jennifer shared a photo of her being interviewed by Oprah with the cast of "Dreamgirls" in 2007. "For me, this is a full circle," said Jennifer. "And look at you now!" exclaimed Oprah.

Mariah Carey brought up the meaningful fashion gift given to her by Jennifer Hudson during their shared time at “The Voice” when Mariah appeared as a guest mentor. “That picture of us together when we were at ‘The Voice,’” Mariah recalled. “That robe you were wearing, you ended up sending it to me as a gift, and I still have it.”

In April 2024, Jennifer Hudson chatted with Deanna Dixon, known as “The Rideshare Queen,” but this wasn't the first time they've met. They originally connected in 2004 when they were both auditioning for Season 3 of “American Idol”!

Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson got nostalgic looking at photos of them working on and promoting "The Voice UK" together from 2017 to 2019.

Jennifer told the audience about her time portraying Aretha Franklin and shared this throwback snap as she explored the connection between the late singer and Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day.

Jennifer shared a picture of her mother Darnell Donerson as she told the audience about her at-home Tunnel of Memories.

In addition to Jenn’s pics, the studio audience of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” have also shared their own throwback pics. In one episode, Drea and her best friend Leila from Los Angeles, California, showed Jenn a pic of them wearing overalls from a flea market with short hair cuts. After seeing the snap, Jenn commented that Drea and Leila could’ve been her group members in her short-lived band Final Notice.

Noting that she loves to take pictures and will have thousands in her phones, Jenn shared this pic from church when she was just 7. Jenn — who said she has always been tall for her age — admired the fabulous pose she struck.

Before competing on “American Idol,” Jenn got her start on a Disney cruise ship where she played one of the muses in “Hercules.” Here she is with her co-star Josh.

Interesting fact: back in Chicago, Jenn was in a group called Final Notice. However, Jenn left the group after the manager stole her sister’s wallet. Jenn then gave Final Notice her final notice!

Jennifer shared a snap from her prom night where her best friend Walter was her date! Walter Williams III is now an executive producer on "The Jennifer Hudson Show."

While discussing “American Idol,” Jenn and her former judge Randy Jackson reminisced about the hit reality TV show, including Jenn’s co-stars LaToya London and Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino. Though JHud remembers the trio as “the divas,” Randy coined them the “Dreamgirls”!

For her premiere episode, which coincided with her 41stbirthday, Jenn interviewed her former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell and wore an all-pink outfit reminiscent of one that he criticized on the singing competition show. Luckily, Simon approved Jenn’s new and improved ensemble.
