Nick and Vanessa Lachey’s Kids Want to Be Like Their Mom After Watching ‘NCIS: Hawaii’

Nick and Vanessa Lachey are raising the next generation of heroes.
On Friday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” the couple — who have been married for 11 years — talked to Jennifer about Vanessa’s historic role in the CBS drama “NCIS: Hawaii.”
Playing the character of Jane Tennant, the special agent in charge of a team at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Vanessa is the first female lead in the “NCIS” franchise.
As part of her role, she must perform fight scenes, which she told Jennifer make her feel “like such a baddie!” However, she doesn’t feel as tough when she goes home and has to “ice [herself].”
“That’s why I don’t start no trouble at home,” Vanessa said, referencing her children with Nick: sons Camden and Phoenix, and daughter Brooklyn.
Despite this, Vanessa’s action-packed scenes have had a tremendous impact on her kids. Specifically, Brooklyn was inspired by one of her mom’s stunts on a horse.
“She said, ‘I want to be a cop on a horse,’” Vanessa recalled. “My kids keep me going.”
“I’ve been lucky to host ‘Total Request Live,’” she added about the MTV music video show. “Now, I get to act for my kids.”
However, one problem with doing so many stunts is that Vanessa bruises easily. During a recent vacation, the couple — specifically Nick — received several odd stares.

Because of her marks, Vanessa is forced to wear long sleeves and pants.
“I need some vitamin D, vitamin K, [some] bananas!” she added.
Nobody said being a crime-fighting hero was easy!
