On Tuesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Michael, who created the Tony-winning musical “A Strange Loop,” and Jennifer, a producer on the project, revealed they will record a reimagined version of the song “Boundaries” as a bonus track on the cast album.
“Jennifer has so graciously offered to sing one of the songs from the show that will be coming out soon, soon-ish. I did a little lyrical tweak for her,” the playwright told the live studio audience.
While expressing gratitude to Jennifer, Michael said he “loved” Jenn’s voice ever since she played one of the angels in the play.

“I cannot wait,” Jenn said about the project.
But this wasn’t the only surprise in the episode!
Moments earlier, Michael surprised Jenn with “a little special message” from the cast of “A Strange Loop,” who were backstage at The Lyceum Theatre on Broadway before a performance.
“Hey, Ms. Producer!” the cast said. “Congratulations on your beautiful new talk show!”
In response to the touching video, Jenn exclaimed, “I love y’all!”

Because she served as a producer, Jennifer also took home a Tony — the award that completed her EGOT.
In the interview, Jenn asked Michael what it’s like to share a name with legendary singer Michael Jackson.
“[It’s a] blessing and a curse,” Michael explained.
While he admitted that “nobody forgets my name, not even once,” having a moniker like his makes him “step it up” in the entertainment industry.
“There’s magic in the name,” he added.
