Rachel Lindsay Recalls Getting An ‘Uplifting’ Pep Talk from Rihanna When She Was Nervous

Rachel Lindsay is sharing how Rihanna was a great support to her during a nerve-racking interview.
On Monday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” JHud sat down with the “Extra” correspondent, who dished about her favorite interviews.
Rachel — who has interviewed Jennifer Hudson numerous times — said that apart from the daytime TV host and EGOT winner, Rihanna was her favorite interviewee and she “freaked out” over the “Work” singer.

When Rachel chatted with Rihanna at her Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 show in 2021, the musician was extremely warm and welcoming.
“She walks up and the first thing she says to me is, ‘Hey, boo!’ And I’m like, ‘Me? Is she talking to me?’ Just that cool with it,” Rachel recalled.
Despite Rihanna’s chill demeanor, Rachel said she began “stammering over [her] words” because she “wasn’t expecting [Rihanna] to approach her in that way.”

Afterward, Rihanna — who was just announced as the headliner for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show — approached Rachel and gave her the sweetest words of encouragement.
“She walks [up and says,] ‘Hey! I listen to you. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m watching you.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh.’ She took the time to support me and encourage me.”

Despite her history with Bachelor Nation and her role on “Extra,” Rachel says she is “not a public person,” and does not want people to know intimate details about her life.
In fact, while she was on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” it was easy for her to navigate this landscape because she lived “in a bubble.”
