In addition to JHud, singers included LaToya London and Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino.
Though JHud remembers the trio as “the divas,” Randy coined them the “Dreamgirls”!
After appearing in “American Idol,” Jennifer went on to portray Effie White in the 2006 musical drama “Dreamgirls,” the film for which she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
Despite Randy appearing on the show for over 12 seasons, he admitted that he thought it was weird he was a judge because he sees himself more as an A&R executive.

Speaking of Simon, Randy and Jennifer spoke about their pal, who was JHud’s first-ever celebrity guest.
“How was he?” Randy asked to which Jennifer replied, “He was different!”
Though many believe Simon to be a harsh critic, Randy said he “mellowed a bit,” perhaps because he’s now a father to son Eric.
When a picture of Simon and Eric appeared on the screen, Jennifer joked that the adorable child looks like a “bitty Simon.”
