Sheryl Lee Ralph Says She's Glad She Didn’t See Her Emmys Hairstyle Before It Was Complete

Sheryl Lee Ralph is glad she rocked that glitzy ponytail on Emmys night, but the actress tells Jennifer Hudson she probably would’ve stopped her glam team if she had a mirror to check her reflection!
The actress — who this year won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for her role on “Abbott Elementary” — delivered an iconic speech at the ceremony and looked fabulous while she did it.
However, on Tuesday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Sheryl admitted that she would’ve stopped her hairstylist in their tracks if she’d seen how many crystals were being applied to her hair.

Sheryl stepped out wearing a high ponytail with a black dress featuring a thigh-high split from Brandon Blackwood New York. Mila Thomas did her makeup and Moira Frazier slicked back her tresses.
The star — who plays Mrs. Barbara Howard on the show — says that after an hour and a half, her daughter’s response to her look indicated that her transformation was a special one.

“My daughter was like, ‘I love it. That’s my vision,’” Sheryl recalled.
“I’m so glad I didn’t have a mirror because I’d have stopped them in their tracks. The mother in me would’ve come out. I would’ve said, ‘Oh, no, darlings, that’s too much.’”
Sheryl now acknowledges that the number of crystals was “just enough” because “everybody loved it.”
