October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today we’re celebrating two incredible women who turned their survivor stories into something truly beautiful.
Meet Anna Wassman from Irvine, California, and Karen Skirvin from Lake Forest, California — two breast cancer survivors who met in Onco-Ballet, a dance program created specifically for survivors. Through movement, they’ve built a community filled with strength, laughter, and hope.
Together, they share how dance helped them reconnect with their bodies, release fear, and find joy again after the hardest chapters of their lives. What started as a ballet class has grown into a movement — one that reminds us that healing doesn’t just happen in hospitals… Sometimes, it happens on the dance floor.
