How are you finding ways to relax and refresh this summer? I hope you’re taking some time for self-care while it’s nice outside! Go for a walk, enjoy a bike ride (I always do!), touch some grass, and pick up a good book.
If you want a good story, check out Cedric the Entertainer’s novel “Flipping Boxcars,” which was inspired by his grandfather!
If you need some guidance or motivation, pick up Common’s “And Then We Rise: A Guide to Loving and Taking Care of Self.” Dr. Mahalia A. Hines, distinguished educator (and Common’s mama!), also has her own self-help book, “Tomorrow’s Children,” which offers practical advice for raising kids in a tech-obsessed society.
Speaking of children, Matthew McConaughey’s “Just Because” has important life lessons for little ones, and 7-year-old author Cassidy Bridges’ “Thank You, It’s an Afro” is the perfect story to inspire confidence in your kids!

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
