Is it summer yet?! As far as I’m concerned, Memorial Day weekend marks the start of summer, and I am here for it! Who else is planning to bust out the barbecue this weekend? (Grilled Crescent Dogs, anyone?)
As excited as I am for the season to come, I am still thinking about all the amazing guests we had on the show this past week! The one and only Samuel L. Jackson chatted with me about his love of everything from The Muppets to King Kong (same, same!!!), and he even dropped some details about his incredible yacht vacations with Steve Harvey and Magic Johnson. (Still waiting for my invite, Mr. Jackson!)
I also loved spending time with Issa Rae, who is fully in her “mogul era” as far as I’m concerned! Issa is bringing her Black Girl Magic to movies, TV, hair care, coffee shops — she even talked about building a studio in South Central L.A. I am so inspired by Issa’s ambition — go on and get it, girl! I hope each of you finds the ability to harness the power within you to go out in the world and do great things!
